Is this the same as Carfax?
No. Carfax pulls from databases. It only knows what insurers, the DMV and participating shops reported. We go to the source: the person who owned the car. Pull a Carfax for title and odometer history. We cover what it can’t.
Will the dealership or the previous owner know who I am?
No. We don’t contact the dealership. We never share your name with the previous owner. It works both ways: you don’t get the owner’s name or number either.
What if the previous owner won’t talk?
If we can’t identify the owner, you get a full refund for that car. If we identify the owner but they never respond, you get a credit toward your next report: 25% of that car’s price (20% per car on orders of 3 or more). You also keep the research we completed.
How long does a report take?
We start reaching out within 36 hours of your order. Within 18 hours with Rush. Once we identify the owner, we reach out six times by call and text over about a week. Some answer the first call. Others take a few days. We email you the moment your report is ready. Already found the car? Ask the dealer for a 48-hour hold. Most will agree.
How do I know what the owner told you is true?
We don’t just pass along what we hear. Each finding is labeled Verified, backed by a record or a second source, or Owner-reported, the owner’s word. The report also includes a dated log of every step we took.
Can I use the report to negotiate?
That’s what it’s for. Knowing what the dealer paid, or about a repair they didn’t mention, is real leverage. The report is for your own buying decision. Please don’t repost it.
Which states do you cover?
41 states. State privacy laws keep us out of California, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Vermont and Washington.
Do you work with private-party sales or new cars?
Not yet. We focus on used cars sold by dealerships. That’s where buyers get the least information about a car’s past.
What do you do with my information?
Only what the job needs. Your email confirms your order and delivers your report. We never sell or share your information.
Are you connected to any dealership?
No. We don’t sell cars or take referral fees. We have no stake in whether you buy. Our only job is to get you the facts.
